What is BBC?

The Bible Core Course is a course of the College/Faculty of Christian Ministries of the University of the University of the Nations, based in Hawaii. Its purpose is to give a complete understanding of the inductive approach to Bible study. Among many methods of Bible study, we can highlight at least two:

The deductive: one in which the person approaches the text or book with a pre-conceived idea with an overview and then relies on details, meaning that one usually already has an idea for what has already been written or spoken, and in that way, the person ends up reproducing what he has already read or heard from someone. The other method is the inductive, (the method chosen by BCC) where the student approaches the text by himself discovering particular aspects to get a broader view of an entire book, that is, the student begins to observe the text word by word until arriving at a main central idea. More than an academic exercise, the School is the search for the truth of God in the company of the one who is the verb of life Jesus.

How Does the School Work?

The BCC works with the tutoring system, that is, each student will be accompanied by a tutor, who will guide their studies and the execution of works, and evaluate them. The role of the tutor is to make each student reach the maximum of success in their study.

The student will also be taken to an understanding of the tripod of the school, ie:

Observation: What the text says

Interpretation: What the text meant to the listeners of that time

Application: What the text means for today’s reader
